How to find us
HMP Forest Bank is based in Salford and is well placed with good transportation links to the prison.
HMP Forest Bank is located in Pendlebury, Salford, with easy access from the motorway network.
From the M60 (Manchester Ring Road)
Leave the motorway at Junction 16 (A666, Clifton/Swinton). Follow signs towards Swinton / Pendlebury and then Agecroft Road. The prison is clearly signposted from here.From Manchester City Centre
Head west via the A6 or A666 towards Salford / Swinton. Continue onto Agecroft Road and follow signs for HMP Forest Bank.From Bolton / North Manchester
Take the A666 towards Salford, leaving at signs for Swinton / Pendlebury. Continue along Agecroft Road until you reach the prison entrance.
Parking: Visitor parking is available on site, close to the main entrance. Please allow extra time at busy periods, as spaces may be limited.
HMP Forest Bank is well served by local bus routes from Manchester and the surrounding areas:
From Manchester City Centre
Regular buses (93 and 95) run from Cannon Street towards Pendlebury. Get off at the Cusson Soap Works stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the prison entrance.From Salford
The Bee Network Bus 8 runs from Salford Crescent towards Agecroft Road. The nearest stop is just a few minutes’ walk from the prison.From Swinton
Bus 484 stops directly outside the prison, although this service runs less frequently and does not operate on Sundays.

HMP Forest Bank does not have a train station on site, but there are several nearby options with good connections by bus or taxi:
From Manchester Piccadilly
This is the main station in the city with direct services from across the country. From here, you can take a short bus or taxi journey to the prison.From Salford Crescent
Located about 2 miles from the prison, Salford Crescent is well connected by local trains. From the station, you can catch the Bus 8 towards Agecroft Road, which stops a short walk from the prison.From Swinton
Swinton station is close to the prison. From here, the Bus 484 runs directly to HMP Forest Bank (please note this service does not operate on Sundays and runs less frequently than other routes).By Taxi
Taxis are available from all nearby stations and take around 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
